Nationalday in Parpan

The 1st August celebration of the municipality of Churwalden will take place on the Ried village square in Parpan. The event starts at 4 pm with lantern making for children, and from 6 p.m. onwards there will be a bar and delicacies from local hotels, restaurants and associations. At 8 pm the church bells will ring, followed by the welcome address by the president of the municipality and the festive speech. The Alpina Churwalden Music Society will then play the national anthem. At about 9.15 pm the children, accompanied by drummers, will start the lantern procession around Mahlerweg. At about 9.45 pm the 1st August bonfire will be lit on the Ried and the celebration will end.
