Festi Musiques Moudon, Grand-Rue 27, 1510 Moudon
Orchestras, brass brands, choirs and a whole host of other musicians congregate in the mediaeval town of Moudon, 20 km from Lausanne towards Berne, for the Festival des Musiques Populaires in June.
Since its creation fourteen years ago, the Moudon Festival des Musiques Populaires has made a name for itself as THE event for lovers of popular and traditional music; accordions, brass instruments, drums and many other sometimes unfamiliar instruments entertain audiences at around one hundred free concerts.
Music engenders a feeling of celebration, happiness, knowledge and respect between people. This sense of togetherness is recreated every year by this festival attended by multicultural groups and ensembles performing their music to the delight of the audiences.
In addition to the country’s four national languages, music has always been a shared means of communication for all Swiss people. This exchange is at the heart of the festival, known for its friendly atmosphere and large enthusiastic audiences.
