21.12.2024 10:00 - 17:00
Landesmuseum Zürich, Museumstrasse 2, 8001 Zürich
The traditional nativity scene exhibition at the National Museum presents nativity scenes from all over the world and this year places a special focus on animals and their symbolism.
Oxen, donkeys and sheep are a familiar part of many European cribs. But in other parts of the world, nativity scenes feature camels, elephants and even flamingos. Every crib therefore not only tells the Christmas story, but also reveals something about the people and wildlife in the place where it’s from.
The traditional Christmas exhibition at the National Museum Zurich presents cribs from all over the world and this year takes a closer look at the animals and what they symbolise. As always, the exhibition will be accompanied by a varied supporting programme for the whole family.
