New art space in Basel

In the second part of the Newcomer exhibition, Barbara Heidi Maurer, Kornelia Reichart, Anna Katharina Rintelen and Sarah Walbeck will be showing their works from July 10th to July 27th, 2024. Maurer's works show stories and places that she paints with rye tempera, oil and chalk on canvas or wood, while Reichart's archaic-looking works made of acrylic, wool, linen and woven magic words create fantasy images - she calls them magic word pictures. Walbeck's soapstone sculptures show the growth process of plants, and in her mixed media works of photography and painting she also deals with the themes of change, people and the cosmos. Rintelen's ink brush drawings and acrylic paintings create images that resemble bodies of water and landscapes with a radiant luminosity and depth.
